So here we are. Six years old and no Star Wars party. How and why and, more importantly, why not?
Those wooden blocks your child played with to build towers (and topple them with glee) when he was about toddler age? Keep them. Couple those with the imagination of a child, and it’s time for some make believe in block-land. Or in our case, somewhere far, far away.
When Tita Candy came to visit, she gifted Matthew with a how-to-draw Star Wars book. To a preschooler, it’s exciting. And then frustrating. It took several attempts to explain that drawing can be personal, art doesn’t have to replicate, and that the point is really to enjoy the process.
I should have known better. Really. I knew I was married to a big-time Star Wars fan. Little did I know that the situation could still be raised to a whole new level.
